Hydroxylamine

1. A partially oxidized derivative of ammonia; reacts with carbonyl groups to produce oximes; forms acid salts, hydroxylamine hydrochloride. It is a chemical mutagen that causes deamination of cytosine residues in DNA. 2. Any compound containing RNH—OH.
